Dog Training Service

1-2-1 Training in the home

This is a popular choice of training for most people who lead busy lives and do not wish to go to weekly classes.   If you are looking for simple and effective dog training, we will cover all the essential commands that would be shown in a class but with the benefit that you receive individual attention and overcome obstacles associated with the dog’s own environment. This option also suits puppies with the bonus that you are able to begin training as soon as your new pup arrives home, rather than waiting for your puppy to be fully vaccinated (the best time to train!)

Sometimes a 1-2-1 is necessary for certain behavioural issues; the dog needs to be seen in the home to help assess and correct the problem.  Some dogs find a class environment too stressful or fail to maintain concentration adequately.

Whatever your reason, a 1-2-1 training session can beneficial and enjoyable!

Fees: A 1-2-1 training session in your home will cost £40 per hour. For aggression cases because of the severity and depth of training required, up to 2 hours may be required.   Travel costs may incur if outside of Shrewsbury or Nantwich at 40p per mile. Please note the team does not travel more than 30 minutes outside of Shrewsbury or Nantwich.  A written report will be provided after the training session as a aid-memoir for the training covered.  On some occasions when an Assistant is available, video clips may be shot and can be sent to you fully edited as a visual aid.  Many clients find this helpful after their training session.

Getting a new puppy and don’t know what to buy? Puppy training starter packs are available to see your puppy through to adulthood.  This includes; a Long Line for outdoor recall training, a House Line for basic puppy training, a Puppy Kong that can help reduce boredom and the School For Paws training literature as a reminder to the methods covered.  All puppies can begin training from 8 weeks of age. Starter pack cost £15.00.

All training literature and visual aids  provided by School For Paws is copyright protected and is not to be copied or produced by any other person or organisation.

Workshops

Have you been to a regular training class in a village hall and your dog performs well in that environment but when it comes to being outside it all changes?  At School For Paws all workshops are designed to incorporate real-life situations and provide training tools for you and your dog that you would use in an everyday situation.  Therefore, the course content in classes would cover essential commands, basic dog psychology and problem solving.

Workshops  are run either outside in a more natural environment or in a large indoor riding school, providing plenty of space to work in.  All workshops are run in small groups for that more personal feel.  Workshops subjects are; Recall training & other essential commands for controlling your dog; walking on the lead and  Preparing for your new puppy (great for new dog owners).

Please note that we do not offer regular training classes as these are often run in village hall environments which School For Paws find can be ineffective at times due to slippery floors, loud noises and cramp conditions.  Training has often proved to be more effective when training in a more natural environment where distractions are present.
